Self Care

Delivering care and services to the public can be very rewarding and fulfilling but there may be times when pressures and strains take their toll. These may include work related issues, such as ethical or faith dilemmas, traumatic situations or management challenges. Work may be particularly stressful when you are caring for and supporting people who are dying and their loved ones. In addition to training it is important to provide you with the resources and support you need, therefore this section includes information on self care, some available support organisations and booklets that have been developed to help staff in their role.

We recognise that you may also be experiencing personal difficulties, for example, financial concerns, relationship problems, ill health or bereavement. The information and guidance contained here can also be applied to personal circumstances.
