District and City Council Services (Crematorium)

Care provided after death:

Within Northern Ireland, cremation services are provided at the City of Belfast Crematorium, located at Roselawn Cemetery. A cremation service is also provided specifically for maternity units at the Belfast, South Eastern and Southern Health and Social Care Trusts. The crematorium has a Garden of Remembrance where ashes are scattered and hosts an annual Service of Remembrance for babies. Cremations are available to everyone, regardless of religion, with the facility to arrange multi faith and multi cultural religious and non-religious services. A range of dispersal and memorial options are also available.
Cremations at the City of Belfast Crematorium are hosted at 30 minute intervals at the following times:

  • Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 12noon and 1pm to 5pm
  • Saturday – 8.30am to 12noon and 1pm to 2pm
